The Garden Tourist’s Philadelphia Flower Show 2024

Tuesday, March 5–Thursday, March 7, 2024

Enjoy a taste of spring at the renowned Philadelphia Flower Show, New York Botanic Garden and Longwood Gardens

Itinerary

DAY 1: Depart aboard our deluxe motorcoach as we head to Philadelphia to experience the beauty of early spring. We begin with a visit to NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN to enjoy the annual Orchid Show in the Victorian glasshouses! Thousands of orchids of many varieties are displayed within landscapes of tropical plants. After the show, lunch and shopping, we head south to Pennsylvania and our home at the Mendenhall Hotel for a Welcome Reception and Dinner.

DAY 2: We spend the day in Philadelphia enjoying the fabulous PHILADELPHIA FLOWER SHOW, America’s oldest and finest exhibit of creative landscapes, floral design and outstanding horticulture. The 2024 theme of “United by Flowers” will illustrate the beauty and power of flowers to transform, inspire, delight, and connect us to one another. You will have the day in the city to enjoy the show, lunch and any other sights that you may wish to visit on your own, followed by a group dinner at the Plough and Stars.

DAY 3: Today we visit the internationally renowned LONGWOOD GARDENS, Pierre S. du Pont’s grand estate of gardens, fountains, and conservatories. We will enjoy a guided tour with time on your own to walk the grounds and enjoy the early bulbs and tree blossoms, and then soak in the scents and beauty of tropical plants, bulbs, orchids, cacti and succulents in the lush conservatories. Lunch on own here and dinner en route as we return home with wonderful anticipation of spring to come.
